The Office of Safety, Health, and Environmental Management (OSHEM) provides the Smithsonian with policies, guidance, and assistance for the management of safety, occupational health and wellness, fire protection, and environmental management programs for staff and volunteers. OSHEM provides a safe visitor experience and provides emergency first aid to visitors and staff in need of assistance.
